Mike Duncan

Mike Duncan serves as Managing Director of Correspondent Sales at Pennymac, where he manages strategic relationships with the nation’s largest homebuilders and Independent Mortgage Bankers (IMBs). With over 20 years of experience in mortgage capital markets and institutional sales, Duncan leverages a deep understanding of the industry to oversee Pennymac’s partnerships with banks and credit unions, providing a comprehensive perspective that aligns secondary market execution with diverse client needs.

A recognized innovator in capital markets technology, Duncan previously spent eight years at Compass Analytics. During this tenure, he hedged mortgage interest rate risk for pipelines ranging from $50 million to over $1 billion and supported MSR valuations for large IMBs and institutional investors. Duncan was instrumental in the firm’s technological evolution, directing product development for all buy- and sell-side platforms. Notably, he co-developed the Hybrid AO, now known as Bulk AOT, and successfully executed the industry’s inaugural trade of its kind with Franklin American.

Duncan began his career at Countrywide Financial within AOT Margin Management, where he negotiated assignment-of-trade deals for the country’s largest national lenders. During this time, he created the granular pricing strategies that optimized foundational AOT pricing models and later transitioned into National Sales, supporting sales management for top-tier lending accounts.

Throughout his extensive tenure, Duncan has remained a consistent driver of strategic innovation. From co-developing loan-level MSR bidding systems to managing high-stakes institutional relationships, he continues to advance professional standards and execution across the mortgage landscape.

Nick Pabarcus, CMB, serves as the Managing Director of Non-QM Products at Pennymac, where he is responsible for driving the strategic growth and execution of the firm’s Non-QM offerings. With more than 25 years of experience in the mortgage banking industry, Pabarcus leverages deep institutional expertise to lead Pennymac’s expansion in this sector. He currently maintains a significant role in industry leadership, serving as the Residential President and a member of the Executive Board of Directors for the California Mortgage Bankers Association.

As a Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) and Accredited Mortgage Professional, Pabarcus is committed to professional mentorship and education. He serves as a CMB sponsor and instructor at the MBA’s School of Mortgage Banking, specializing in price modeling and capital markets execution. Through his extensive tenure, he has remained a consistent advocate for advancing professional standards and strategic innovation across the mortgage landscape.

Prior to his current role, Pabarcus served as Chief Revenue Officer at Logan Finance, overseeing revenue strategy for Non-Agency origination and buying operations. His executive career includes serving as Executive Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at loanDepot, where he led Third-Party channels and championed lending diversity, and EVP at Stearns Lending, where he positioned the firm as a top-tier national wholesale lender. Pabarcus also held foundational leadership roles at Bank of America – Countrywide within the Wholesale and Correspondent divisions.
